This is the second movement of a harp Quartet, that I wrote in 2011.
(the picture is by Adam Wilson http://www.flickr.com/people/adamwilson/)
The piece is for 4 lever harps arranged in a circle with the audience around them. This particular recording is sadly off the computer, and as such does not give you the 3D effect that I wrote into the music. The opening 2 notes are passed around the harps and in performance should sound as if they are rotating around the harps. I also tuned the harps in different keys to allow me to change keys suddenly or include odd harmonies. This piece as illustrated by the picture by Adam Wilson is about those blue moments of the Firth of Forth. As seen from my workshop window in Anstruther.
